Exergy Storage develops a sustainable and intrinsically safe battery. This novel ‘Exergy’ battery technology uses commonly available, cheap raw materials such as rock salt, (recycled) aluminium and iron.
Exergy Storage was founded by Dr. Gert Jan Jongerden, after an extensive career in the chemical industry as an R&D and business manager leading the development of new high-technology products like flexible solar panels. Over the years he has acquired ample expertise on how to advance a new technology from the explorative R&D phase all the way to serial production.
The company is staffed by a highly qualified core team with a mix of complementary backgrounds in chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, business administration, and strategy and risk management. In addition, approximately 10 external advisors and experts from various supply and production partners are closely involved in the development of Exergy’s battery technology.
